 Technical Designer | Design Department

  • Communicate and proactively solve pattern and construction issues with sample development and grading
  • Prepare and create detailed tech packs, including construction details, front and back view sketches, fabrications, trim sheets and critical measurements
  • Conduct fittings on live models to determine fit corrections - Live fitting experience required
  • Grade patterns and analyze graded nest to make necessary adjustments to maintain fit and design integrity
  • Responsible for adding graded spec and finalizing construction updates in PLM system 
  • Measure samples for preparation for fittings for accuracy 
  • Collaborate with design on fittings and make comments and adjustments to patterns based on fit comments 
  • Document clear and concise notes during the fitting in PLM system
  • Assist with overseeing construction of samples and providing pattern and sewing support at external factories  
  • Assist design team with the inspection of proto samples received from factories to make sure tech pack was accurately followed and make any call outs and log any issues in the PLM system
  • Adhere to development/production calendar/T&A deadlines 
  • Attend development meetings, technical handoffs with design team 
  • Other duties as assigned

  • B.A. in Fashion Design, pattern making major preferred
  • 7-10 years of technical design experience in apparel industry required
  • Ability to construct tech packs for both woven and knits with technical specs and communicate contents with factories 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Team player 
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Excel/Powerpoint
  • Strong understanding of sewing, patterns, garment construction, spec knowledge and technical sketching
  • Understanding of grade principles and the capacity to apply to a specific product
  • Knowledge of fabrics, construction, and washes/dying

      Creative Studio Assistant | Graphic Design

Work closely with our Art Directors and Design team by assisting with all creative deliverables:

  • Assist with the execution of digital assets such as: original artwork, artwork modification and logo driven graphics that are in line with the brand’s vision.
  • Assist with campaign conceptualization, project theming, photo retouching and color correcting.
  • Work with our creative teams to create thoughtful branding/packaging design solutions for the brand and special collaborations.
  • Assist with print development, print modification and cad development. 
  • Layout and compile finalized digital assets for presentation.
  • Work autonomously to meet project milestones and deadlines for creative reviews. 


  • 3-4 years of experience
  • MUST have fluency in current graphic design practices and Adobe Creative Suite applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. 
  • Provides high attention to detail in all creative deliverables
  • Great visual design
  • Strong conceptual abilities

Spring 2024 Internships


At Mirror Palais we offer an accredited student program within our Design, Production, Operations, Social Media and PR Departments. Each individual program provides an educational hands-on experience to grow and learn, while obtaining useful working practices to excel in the fast paced environment of fashion in New York City. 

 Please read carefully, applicants who do not follow directions will not be considered. Must live or be able to travel to NYC for the duration of the internship. We do not offer remote internships.

    Design Department


    • Sourcing fabrics and trims in the Garment District
    • Help develop presentation boards for collections other administrative duties 
    • Assist with preparing samples for fittings
    • Participate in fit sessions (taking fit photos and notes)
    • Occasional assistance in creation of mockups 
    • Assist with Design meeting prep (e.g., help to organize room, prepare meeting documents)
    • Assist in Design workspace is organization
    • Measuring garments and assisting with specs
    • Producing flats
    • Maintaining organized samples on sample racks
    • Report to the Head of Development


    • Minimum 2 day availability
    • Pursuing degree in Fashion Design
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Understanding of basic fit issues and corrections
    • Familiarity and knowledge of Google Sheets and Adobe Programs

    • Applicable second languages (not required): Chinese, Korean, Spanish



    Production Department


    • Running errands in the garment district (pick ups, drop offs, etc)
    • Assisting with the maintenance of fabric and trim inventories
    • Sourcing fabrics and trims 
    • Organizing fabric swatch library in office 
    • Assisting with quality checks on production lots
    • Assist with Production Inventory 
    • Communicating with contractors and vendors when necessary and reporting notes to Head of Production
    • Arranging and tracking fabric and trim shipments 


    • Minimum 2 day availability
    • Proficient in software skills specifically Google Sheets/Excel
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Team-player who can also work independently
    • Applicable second dialects and languages (not required): Mandarin, Taiwanese, Spanish


      PR Department


      • Managing and organizing office samples PR Closet 
      • Regularly checking quality of office samples
      • Monitor office sample tracking on dry cleaning, press loans, etc.  
      • Maintaining and auditing PR inventory 
      • Taking check in and check out photos of PR samples 
      • PR office sample loans; check out, check in, tracking, etc. 
      • Assist in strategy meetings for activations

      • Proficient in software skills specifically Google Sheets/Excel
      • Organized team-player who can also work independently
